Who We Are

The On-Site Dentist is a team of dental professionals who have the unique experience of delivering dentistry on-site to patients of all ages.  Our mission is to make seeing the dentist a positive experience. This leads to a lifetime of improved dental health, a reduced fear of seeing the dentist, and fewer educational days missed due to dental issues.  We want to “Improve Education Through Dentistry.”

What We Do

Comprehensive Dental Examination:  A thorough examination of your student’s teeth, gums, and mouth by the doctor helps him/her determine the oral health of the student and how to best proceed.

X-Rays:  X-rays can diagnose problems that are otherwise undetectable such as cavities between teeth, tumors, cysts, infection, impacted teeth, and damage to bone.

Cleaning:  A dental professional will clean along and below the gum line, removing buildup of plaque and tartar that can cause gum disease, cavities, bad breath, and other problems.  We will polish and floss the teeth during the visit and instruct the student on proper oral care techniques.

Fluoride Treatment:  The fluoride treatment can help prevent or slow tooth decay.  The fluoride is brushed on and is similar to applying toothpaste.

Sealants:  A sealant is a tooth-colored material that is applied to the chewing surface of the back teeth where decay occurs most often.  Sealants protect the natural grooves in teeth, which are particularly susceptible to decay.

Oral Health Education:  We will help to arm students with tips and information that will help build a foundation for a lifetime of healthy dental habits.

Help Establish a Dental Home:  After our visit with the student, we help to establish a dental home that fits the student’s needs.

Does The On-Site Dentist Provide Comprehensive Dental Care?

Our goal is to provide students with a positive dental experience, and to re-shape any negative perspectives or fears of dental care.  We don’t want students returning to class feeling numb or uncomfortable, so The On-Site Dentist never uses needles or drills. We want students to return to the classroom as quickly as possible with minimal disruption.  Also, we want parents/guardians to understand the recommendations and agree on how to proceed with care for their children. Parents/guardians are always welcome to be present during the student’s visit with The One-Site Dentist.
